The Animal Control Section of the Beaufort County Sheriff's Office works to promote responsible pet ownership, prevent the spread of animal-borne diseases and protect the public by seizing unrestrained animals roaming throughout the county. This section is also responsible for providing a temporary shelter for stray and unwanted animals, for maintaining a vigorous program to reunite stray pets with owners and for providing a successful adoption program for those animals.
