Hilton Head Man Arrested on Charges Related to Breaking into Vending Machines

On April 9, 2008, Beaufort County Sheriff's Office investigators arrested a resident of Hilton Head Island, Paul Chisolm of 22 Chisolm Place, on charges related vending machine related incidents recently reported at Woodlake Villas and Hilton Head Regional Hospital.

Woodlake Villas Incident (Case# 200803130208): On March 13, 2008, the Sheriff's Office received a complaint from Woodlake Villas Property Management to report damage to a Coca-Cola vending machine located at their facility, 96 Mathews Drive, Hilton Head. It appeared that a metal rod had been used by the suspect(s) to pry into the dollar dispenser on the machine.

Hilton Head Regional Hospital Incident (Case# 200804050115): On April 5, 2008, a staff member of the Hilton Head Regional Hospital reported that an unknown individual had entered the public cafeteria area and removed the countertop in the vending machine vestibule with the intent of taking a coin vending machine to which it was attached.

Investigation of the referenced incidents led to suspect, Paul Chisolm (DOB: 12/19/1965, Address: 22 Chisolm Place, Hilton Head). Chisolm was arrested on April 9, 2008 on the following charges:

  • Case# 200804050115: Burglary 2nd degree, Grand Larceny and Malicious Injury to Property
  • Case# 200803130208: Malicious Injury to Property and Petit Larceny.

Chisolm was transported to the Beaufort County Detention Center where he remains awaiting a bond hearing.
