On March 26, 2008 at 3:58 PM, Beaufort County Dispatch received a phone call that described a wanted vehicle traveling south on Hwy 21 near Hwy 170. BCSO Sgt. W. Angelo observed the vehicle and attempted to conduct a traffic stop on Hwy 21 near Carteret Street. The driver, Timothy D. Harris, refused to stop and continued to travel south on Carteret Street. Harris then turned into the USC-Beaufort campus and drove to the rear of the Performing Arts Center. Harris fled the vehicle near the loading dock and ran into the school building. The suspect vehicle had a front seat passenger, Kevin T. Alston, so Sgt. Angelo detained Alston and requested additional assistance.
