Suspects Arrested in La Guadalupana Armed Robbery

Three suspects have been identified and arrested in the January 8th armed robbery of the La Guadalupana grocery store on Hilton Head Island.

Eric Justin McBeth
Ernesto Martinez-Trejo
Juan Carolos Garcia-Nava

Two of the suspects, 20-year-old Eric Justin McBeth, and 22-year-old Ernesto Martinez-Trejo, both of Bluffton, were arrested just after 11:15 pm last night by members of the Beaufort/Jasper Multi-Jurisdictional Drug Task Force (DTF).

DTF officers made contact with the McBeth and Trejo in the parking lot of the Bluffton Ale House. Officers approached an occupied suspicious vehicle in the parking lot where they discovered McBeth and Trejo with open containers of alcohol. Upon being placed under arrest, officers discovered two handguns inside the vehicle. It is suspected that the handguns found in the vehicle are the same handguns that were used in the La Guadalupana armed robbery.

The arrest of McBeth and Trejo and the subsequent investigation into the handguns found in the vehicle, led deputies to Cotton Hope Apartments on Hilton Head in search of a third suspect believed to be involved in the La Guadalupana armed robbery, 30-year-old Juan Garcia-Nava. Just after 5:30 am this morning, Nava was located at #313 Cotton Hope, and was placed under arrest for his involvement in the armed robbery.

The three suspects now face the following charges:

Eric Justin McBeth:

  • Unlawful Carry of a Pistol
