The Beaufort County Sheriff's Office is investigating a shooting that occurred last night in Bluffton's Shady Glen community.
Just before 9 pm last night, Sheriff's deputies responded to Shady Glen Mobile Home Park in reference to a report of a gunshot victim. Upon arrival, deputies located a 39-year-old Hispanic male victim sitting under a tree in the front yard of 224 Shady Way Circle, bleeding profusely.
The victim was transported via Life Flight to Savannah Memorial Hospital for medical treatment of a gunshot wound. His condition remains undisclosed at this time.
Witnesses reported seeing an altercation involving the victim, and approximately 4-5 male subjects in the roadway on Shady Way Circle. Moments later, several gunshots were heard, and the subjects were seen scattering in various directions, leaving behind the injured victim.
A perimeter around the immediate area was established, and the Beaufort County Sheriff's Office K-9 Tracking Team responded and assisted in a search of the area for the suspect(s). No suspect(s) were located.
