Erick Antonio Holmes

A suspect in the December 17th home invasion of an Ed & Grant Drive residence was arrested yesterday afternoon.

Nineteen-year-old Erick Antonio Holmes of St. Helena was arrested on Coffin Point Road just after 4:00 pm yesterday afternoon after initially fleeing from deputies.

A Sheriff's deputy proactively patrolling the area of Coffin Point Road yesterday observed a black male subject walking down the roadway who appeared to match the description given for one of the suspects involved in the burglary, kidnapping, and armed robbery of two residents of 11 Ed & Grant Drive on December 17th. As the deputy approached the subject, later identified as Holmes, he immediately fled into the nearby tree line.

Witnesses in the area pointed deputies in the direction Holmes was seen fleeing, and Holmes was quickly located in the area of 68 Coffin Point Road. Deputies searching the area where Holmes was detained discovered a .380 caliber handgun, a black ball cap, and a small plastic bag of crack cocaine. A check of the handgun determined it to have been previously reported stolen.

Holmes was placed under arrest and charged with Unlawful Possession of a Pistol by Persons Under 21, Possession of a Stolen Pistol, and Possession of Crack Cocaine.

Upon further investigation, Holmes was identified as one of the suspects who participated not only in the 11 Ed & Grant Drive home invasion on December 17th, but also in the November 28th burglary of the residence located at 142 Coffin Point Road in which various electronics were stolen from the home.

As a result, Holmes was additionally charged with 1st degree Burglary, Kidnapping, and Armed Robbery for the December 17th incident, and 2nd Burglary for the November 28th incident.
