Bluffton Burglary Suspect Arrested

Jessie Allan Nettles

Jessie Allan Nettles, 17-year-old Bluffton man,was arrested yesterday afternoon shortly after breaking into a Hawkes Road home.

At approximately 1:30 pm yesterday, 25-year-old Jessica Anderson walked into her home at 15 Hawkes Road to discover an unknown white male suspect rummaging through drawers. When Anderson asked the intruder what he was doing there, he fled the home on foot. The home's other resident, 32-year-old Waldina Velasquez, returned home shortly after and discovered that her cell phone was missing from the residence.

Anderson described the suspect as a young white male with red hair, wearing a blue shirt and blue jeans. Based on the suspect description given, deputies developed Nettles as a possible suspect. At that time, deputies responded to Nettles' home at 10 Taylor Court. Nettles, still wearing clothing matching the description of that given by Anderson, was located at the home.

Anderson was able to positively identify Nettles as the suspect she had seen in her home. Upon questioning, Nettles admitted to having been in the Hawkes Rd home and produced the cell phone that had been reported stolen.

Nettles was subsequently arrested and charged with 2nd degree Burglary and Petit Larceny. He was transported to the Beaufort County Detention Center where he remains on a $16,087 bond.
