Anwar Raymond Jiles
The suspect being sought in connection with the November 19th armed robbery of a Lady's Island convenience store has been arrested.
Twenty-three-year-old Anwar Raymond Jiles of Burton was arrested this morning on an outstanding warrant for the armed robbery of the Happy Mart located at 162 Sea Island Parkway. In addition, Jiles was also wanted on an unrelated outstanding Magistrate Court bench warrant.
Jiles had been identified as the suspect who entered the Happy Mart just after 10:30 pm on November 19th, presented a handgun to the clerk and demanded money. Jiles was given an undisclosed amount of cash before he fled the store.
Jiles was located at a Luther Lane residence on St. Helena Island at approximately 9:00 am after deputies received information regarding his whereabouts. Jiles was transported to the Beaufort County Detention Center where he will remain pending a bond hearing.
