Hilton Head Man Arrested for Lewd Conduct

A Hilton Head Island man was arrested on Monday following an investigation by the Beaufort County Sheriff's Office into allegations of his on-going inappropriate behavior with a juvenile.
Thirty-five-year-old Shawn Allen Ross of Marshland Road in Hilton Head was arrested on the following charges:

                      Exposure of Private Parts in a Lewd and 
                                                    Lascivious Manner 
Disseminating Harmful Material to Minors

            The charges stem from an investigation that began in September, when a 17-year-old male reported what he believed to be inappropriate sexual activity at the hands of a family friend.
The victim advised investigators that between January 2003 and May 2007, he had spent time at Ross' home on Hilton Head. During that period, Ross had shown the victim numerous pornographic movies and had provided him with pornographic magazines. The victim relayed that during this time, Ross had not only exposed himself and masturbated in front of the victim repeatedly, but had also attempted to touch the victim's genitals.
Ross was released from the detention center Tuesday morning on $50,000 bond.
