DTF Search Warrant Yields 6 Arrests

An investigation by the Beaufort/Jasper Multi-Agency Drug Task Force (DTF) led to the arrests of six individuals during the service of a search warrant last night.

At approximately 10:00 pm last night, DTF officers and members of the Beaufort County Sheriff's Office SWAT Team executed a search warrant at the residence located at 44 Vineyard Point on St. Helena Island. The search warrant was the result of an ongoing investigation into suspected drug-related activity occurring at the residence.

During the search of the residence, the following illicit materials were discovered and seized:

          • 4.3 grams of crack cocaine
          • 3.8 grams of powder cocaine
          • Small quantity (less than 1 ounce) of marijuana
          • 1 shotgun (Reported stolen in Beaufort County)

Six individuals, found in the house at the time the search warrant was executed, were arrested and charged as follows:

        1. Marion Johnny Bonds, age 21, of 44 Vineyard Point, St. Helena

          Charges: Possession with Intent to Distribute Crack Cocaine, Possession with Intent to Distribute Powder Cocaine, Simple Possession of Marijuana, Receiving Stolen Goods, Probation Violation

        2. Kristia Shuntaye Chisholm, age 17, of 94 Capers Island Road, St. Helena

          Charges: Possession with Intent to Distribute Crack Cocaine, Possession with Intent to Distribute Powder Cocaine, Simple Possession of Marijuana, Receiving Stolen Goods

        3. Arion Delraye Byas, age 21, of 100 Peaches Hill Circle, St. Helena

          Charges: Possession with Intent to Distribute Marijuana (for 55 grams of marijuana found on Byas' person)
          *          Also had an outstanding Highway Patrol bench warrant

        4. Jonathan Daise, age 36, of 16 Fripp Point Road, St. Helena

          Charges: Simple Possession of Marijuana, also had 3 outstanding Family Court bench warrants and 1 outstanding warrant from the Beaufort Police Department

        5. Shastenia Shaprell Allen, age 17, of 14 Chisholm Lane, St. Helena

          Charges: Simple Possession of Marijuana

        6. Ebony Nicole Bennett, age 22, of 30 North Front Street, St. Helena

          Charges: Simple Possession of Marijuana

All suspects were transported to the Beaufort County Detention Center without incident.
