Fifty-year-old Samuel Holmes, Jr. of Hilton Head was arrested yesterday evening in connection with the September 14th burglary of a villa at Ocean Walk on the south end of Hilton Head Island.
Holmes was arrested at 5:00 pm yesterday after being interviewed by investigators in reference to the burglary of unit 108B at Ocean Walk Villas.
On September 15th, Sheriff's deputies responded to Ocean Walk to meet with 53-year-old William Parks who advised that his home had been burglarized the evening before. Parks advised deputies that he believed someone had been coming into his home while he was at work. Parks stated that it had been an on-going problem, so he set up a web camera through his computer to see if he could catch the suspect.
Upon returning home in the early morning hours of September 15th, Parks reviewed the web camera footage and at approximately 7:55 pm, saw an unknown black male subject enter his home, take some change from a bedroom table, and leave.
Investigators reviewed the footage and were later able to positively identify the subject captured on video as Samuel Holmes, Jr. Holmes was subsequently charged with 2nd degree Burglary.
Upon Holmes' arrest, he was transported to the Beaufort County Detention Center where he remains awaiting a bond hearing. |
